Boca welcomes Gary Gensler, chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, who leads the agency at a pivotal time for the listed derivatives industry. Since taking office on May 26, the former investment banker and Treasury Department official has tackled a broad range of issues, holding hearings on speculative position limits and regulatory harmonization, strengthening oversight of the energy markets, demanding more data on trading activity, pushing Congress for more authority to regulate OTC derivatives, and questioning past policies and procedures. Chairman Gensler will give Boca delegates additional insight on what's happening in Washington and his plans for the CFTC.
