The ever-increasing volume on futures and options exchanges can be attributed in part to a new group of professional traders, sometimes called proprietary traders, sometimes trading arcades. They are educated and motivated. They are geographically dispersed. They have access to more markets and trade more than the traditional trading floor local could. This session will consider these new liquidity providers—who they are and how they are shaping the market. What are the risks associated with this group of traders?
