FIX Protocol Limited says that more than 100 bourses worldwide have adopted a FIX interface. Some exchanges won’t make the move because they don’t believe a FIX interface performs as well and can provide the same functionality that its proprietary interface can. Has the adoption of the compression algorithm FAST (Fix Adapted for Streaming) alleviated some of the concerns? What remains to be done?
