There are big changes ahead for the interest rate swaps market. This is one of the largest segments of the over-the-counter markets, roughly $350 trillion in notional amounts outstanding. The Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act requires that much of this market will have to be centrally cleared and traded. Many analysts say this could impact as much as 80% of this market. This panel will discuss the current state of the regulation and trading of interest rate swaps including any new SEF arrangements that have emerged.
