Division News
The FIA Chicago Division is proud to announce that the 2013-2014 Scholarship Applications are now available. We are pleased to announce that for a second consecutive year, we will be awarding five scholarships and are maintaining the value of each scholarship at $2,500. The FIA Chicago Division began its scholarship program in 2000 and has awarded $58,500 in scholarships to 27 academic scholars. The number of applicants has ranged from 10 to 27 in the past. We endeavor to support our members in educating their children and preparing them for the future world economy. We are very proud of this program and hope your children will participate. All qualified persons should apply! The scholarship applicants must be children of individuals with a minimum of one year’s membership as of the end of fiscal year (December 2012) preceding the award year and continuing in good standing at eligibility verification date. It should also be noted that children of eligible Futures Industry Association Chicago Division members who are also members of the Futures Services Division of the Futures Industry Association, may apply to both the FIA Chicago Division Scholarship Program and the Futures Services Division Scholarship Program. Children eligible for both programs may receive only one award in a given year. This year as in the past, Scholarship Management Services will determine the recipients of the awards. The program utilized in the selection by Scholarship Management Services is described in the attachment found below, along with the application. In no instance does any officer or member of the FIA Chicago Division play a part in the selection process. This year, we have determined that the deadline for submission will be May 15, 2013. We felt that this will give our children sufficient time to gather the required information. The recipients selected will be notified by Scholarship Management Services by early July. If you have any questions please contact Scholarship Management Services at the number listed on the application or contact Maria Mancusi at 312-604-8622. To renew your membership for 2013, please use this link: http://www.futuresindustry.org/members/. Please contact mfreeman@futuresindustry.org with questions. Guidelines
