Networking Conference, February 2004
The first Asia conference for derivatives exchanges was held on February 5-6, 2004. All derivatives exchanges and related regulators were invited to attend the conference in Tokyo. John Damgard, president of FIA gave the keynote address. Discussions were held about the developments in Asia and the need for enhancing communication and cooperation among exchanges, regulators, FCMs and other participants in the derivatives markets in the region. Since then, several gatherings were held at FIA meetings in Boca Raton and Chicago (Expo) to discuss the idea of forming FIA-Asia. The FIA-Asia Development Office is now planning the FIA-Asia Derivatives Conference which will be held in Beijing on Auugust 10-11, 2005. This major event is not only for the exchanges but is for FCMs and other interested market participants globally. Contact:
