George F. Haase, Jr.

For the better part of 20 years, George F. Haase, Jr. has been the heart and soul of the FIA Futures Services Division, which has spearheaded the FIA’s efforts to improve the operational efficiency of the futures industry. He has participated in nearly every function, board meeting and fund-raising event that the division has held, and has made sure that the division has operated smoothly and effectively. As presidents of the division have come and gone, he has remained the constant, resident expert on all matters. Haase has worked in the futures industry for nearly 30 years. He joined the compliance department of the New York Cotton Exchange in 1979 and rose to assistant treasurer. In 1986 he began working at the NYCE’s Commodity Clearing Corporation, and since 1993 he has been president of the New York Clearing Corporation, which clears all trades executed at the New York Board of Trade.
