Howard L. Kramer is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Schiff Hardin LLP and is the leader of the firm's Securities and Futures Market Regulation Practice Group. He concentrates his practice in securities regulatory law with an emphasis on broker-dealer, market structure, and self-regulatory organization matters. His clients have included major, full-service securities firms, equity and options market making units, securities markets, electronic and Internet-based trading systems, and hedge funds.
Mr. Kramer joined Schiff Hardin in 1998 from the Securities and Exchange Commission. A longtime staff member of the SEC's Division of Market Regulation, Mr. Kramer was Senior Associate Director and Associate Director of the Division from 1993 to 1998. Mr. Kramer received his B.A. (Phi Beta Kappa), M.A., and J.D. (cum laude) from the University of Michigan.
