Updates on London Markets
European bourses plan silence for blast victims The London Stock Exchange, Frankfurt's Deutsche Boerse, Euronext operations including the Liffe derivatives market, Swiss exchanges SWX and Virt-x and the Warsaw bourse will all pause at 1100 GMT for 2 minutes. The Nordic and Baltic bourse group will pause at that time for 1 minute. Trading will not be officially halted but members of the exchanges will be asked to refrain from dealing during the silence. At least 52 people were killed on July 7 and 700 were injured when four bombs exploded on London's transport network. Madrid said it was not planning to take part in the silence as it paused for 5 minutes on Friday to mark the attacks. OMX Exchanges observe two minutes of silence Following the recommendation by the next EU President, Austria, the OMX Exchanges will observe two minutes of silence tomorrow Thursday, July 14, 2005, as a mark of respect to the commemoration of the victims of the London terrorist attacks. Euronext.liffe Information Website Update: All Euronext.liffe markets are operating as usual. Members were advised that as a result of the incidents in London yesterday LCH.Clearnet had invoked its contingency arrangements and switched operations to its Business Recovery site.
