Citadel Execution Services

Matthew Andresen is President of Citadel Execution Services, an affiliate of Citadel Investment Group, LLC. Citadel manages over $12 billion from its headquarters in Chicago and offices in San Francisco, New York, London, and Tokyo. Citadel Execution Services routes 500,000 options contracts a day and executes over 100 million shares a day on behalf of Retail Brokerage firms.

In addition to CES, Mr. Andresen also runs Global Equity Trading for Citadel. He also led Citadel's investments in the PHLX and BOX Exchanges. Mr. Andresen serves on the Board of Advisors of the PHLX. Mr. Andresen also served on the Board of Directors of Lava Trading, a New York-based trading technology company, until its sale to Citigroup.

Prior to joining Citadel in June of 2004, Mr. Andresen was President and CEO of Island ECN, the largest electronic stock market in the United States. As one of the first three employees at Island, he was responsible for all strategic and operational decisions at Island. In June of 2002, Mr. Andresen affected the sale of Island to its largest competitor, Instinet (Nasdaq: INET), in a transaction valued at $568 million. After the merger, Mr. Andresen assumed the duties of Chief Operating Officer for the combined ECN.

Mr. Andresen has appeared as an expert before many Congressional Committees on subjects as diverse as Venture Capital in Biotechnology, the Future of Electronic Markets, the Impact of Technology on Commodity Markets, and the Effect of September 11 on Financial Markets. Mr. Andresen is a regular commentator on various financial and news outlets.

Mr. Andresen was named as one of the "Top Ten Executives in Online Finance" by Institutional Investor. Crain's Magazine named him one of the "Top 40 New Yorkers under the age of 40".

Mr. Andresen holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.

A former world-class Fencer, Mr. Andresen was a National Champion, a four-time All-American, a member of the U.S. National Fencing Team, and an alternate for the 1996 U.S. Olympic Team.
