While some industry pundits may have gone too far in predicting capacity chaos and mayhem if the increasing volumes and peak message rates are not mitigated in some way, it is clear that there is demand for more efficient and consistent standards in market data dissemination on a broader scale.

European Standardisation: Overview of the clearing & settlement landscape

The Giovannini Report has identified the lack of a standard interface between clearing and settlement providers as one of the 15 barriers to eliminating inefficiencies in clearing and settlement in the European Union. What standards are available in the European clearing and settlement space? And what is the status of the recommendations for removing this barrier?
