Lawrence (Larry) Leibowitz is a Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, Americas Equities of the UBS Investment Bank.

Mr. Leibowitz joined UBS as a Managing Director in November 2004 when the firm acquired Schwab Capital Markets. He is responsible for several areas including Strategic Planning, Business Analysis, and Regulatory Control, and the Automated Trading and Broker Services functions for the Equities Division. At Schwab, Leibowitz was Co-Head of Schwab Capital Markets. Before joining Schwab in October 2001, he was with Bunker Capital, a quantitative hedge fund, which he co-founded in 1996. He also served as CEO of REDIBook ECN from 1999 until REDIBook's merger with Archipelago. He previously served as Managing Director and Head of Program and Quantitative Trading, as well as Head of Global Equities Technology, at Credit Suisse First Boston. Prior to joining CSFB, Leibowitz was Chief Information Officer and Head Trader at Tech Partners, LP, a quantitative trading boutique, which was acquired by CSFB in 1991. Prior to Tech Partners, Leibowitz ran a trading systems development group at Morgan Stanley, which specialized in automated execution technology.

In addition to serving on the NASDAQ Quality of Market Committee and the Securities Industry Association's (SIA) Market Structure Committee, Mr. Leibowitz is a featured speaker at numerous industry forums related to market structure issues.

Mr. Leibowitz graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Economics. He and his family reside in Stamford, Connecticut.
